Non Destructive Locksmiths Are They Better?

by Jon Rikanoff

You know what has happened and what you need to do if you have forgotten your key and can’t get into your own premises. You need to call an emergency locksmith (or two) to help you gain entry.

The problem is, what is this locksmith going to do you allow you into the property? Well it depends on the kind of locksmith that you employ. There are different styles of emergency locksmith. Some locksmiths are specialist in non destructive entry, which means that they do everything possible to get you into the premises without destroying the existing locks.

Experienced locksmiths are able to open locks using a variety of tools and techniques that don’t destroy the locks. They are master craftsmen and they undergo training that allows them to open a wide variety of lock types and styles. This is not to say that if you have a particularly strong of secure lock that it won’t have to be destroyed so that you are able to enter the premises, however what is true is that the locksmith will attempt everything possible before doing this.

The major advantage of hiring a non-destructive locksmith is the cost. If your emergency locksmith has to fit new locks because they have been unable to open the door without destroying the lock you will have to pay for the labour and parts involved in the opening and the cost of fitting new locks.

If you are in need of an emergency locksmith because you need to open a commercial premises, then you can also hire a specialist commercial locksmith. Commercial premises can have security locks that are more complex than residential premises although this is not necessarily the case.
